Objective 3.3 – Configure notifications to allow approvers to respond via email

To configure email notification firstly we need to configure the smtp server. We will use a demo account for this. Go to the Administration –> Notifications –> Email Servers

As VMware said

Outbound email server is used to send notifications based on system events.

Inbound email server can be used to respond to the notifications and to complete tasks, such as approvals

For Outbound email we provide such kinf of setup

and for Inbound

When we finished configuring email we can also configure notification scenario, when user will be informed

Now we can create an aproval policy. To do that we need specific role such as

Tenant administrator Customize tenant branding. Manage tenant identity stores. Manage user and group roles. Create custom groups. Manage notification providers. Enable notification scenarios for tenant users. Configure vRealize Orchestrator servers, plug-ins and workflows for XaaS. Create and manage catalog services. Manage catalog items. Manage actions. Create and manage entitlements. Create and manage approval policies. Monitor tenant machines and send reclamation requests.

Go to the Administration –> Aproval Policies and press New

In create part we need to provide few details when this approval will be required and who can approve that.

Now as we have our apporval we can assign it to the Entitlement

Now our Request waiting for approval whcih we can see in Inbox

and we should have emil on our account.

Email templates are located in the \Templates directory under the server installation directory, typically %SystemDrive%\Program Files x86\VMware\vCAC\Server so here you can edit it.
