Couple of days ago VMware release the 7.5 version of their cloud automation product called vRealize Automation. I’ve try to take a look on that version and describe my experience.
First time I’ve not deploy this manualy but I’ve used vRealize Lifecycle Manager which also was upgraded to version 2.0. I’ve decide to build one Windows VM and all service put on it. On LCM there was no major changes since version 1.3 so I’ve only deploy vRA
After collect all data from LCM I can login to the new fresh and clean verion
The first thing which I’ve observed is differen logo 😉
We can login as Administrator to manage the tenant, branding, email servers and local users but there was no quite a lot of changes. So I’ve login via configurationadmin which is the local user of default vsphere.local tenant.
When I logged in, I saw a new, changed look of the interface which was called Clarity It looks really good.
When we are in we got workflow to configure the vSphere initial Setup so I’m not thinking a lot and run this as I’m really curious.
After submit we was forwarded to the Request tab and also this tab was change in new design
So on this tab we have more information described in clear way in my opinion it looks more usefull than in older version and very good.
This deployment stoped on one step which was described in request that we need to choose which template, datastore, network and resource pool will be setup as Reservation. This we can do on the inbox tab.
Wow one click and ready. In catalog we have two more elements which was created automatically from templates.
We will not request this but take a look on other tabs. When I went to Administrator tab I was shocked we have drop down menu now and we don’t need to click back and back again I think that this will be my favourite change 😉
The last tab which I want see in First Look was containers because on previous version I’ve done some test with this automatically deployment of containers so I was curious.
This tab look quite different than in previous version and
the first thing that is striking is Kubernetes which I’ve probably take care on in future.
The VMware gave us a new and I could say beautifull tool for automatization with many new thing which take me a lot of time to better understand all. If you want you can by own check them as well.
But I can tell you that I want more time to click and test every element in this vRealize Automation 7.5 and all vRealize Suite 2018 because it is HUGE
